Wettest summer in more than 240 years
If you've been watching the news you know that there have been some problems with rain in England this summer. We haven't talked about it much here, but my friend has been on her blog.
Today, the BBC had a comment that I found really amusing. Apparently this is the wettest summer since they started keeping rainfall records in 1766. The former record was for the summer of 1789.

Hehe, our office in Maidenhead flooded on Friday, so they sent everyone home as they were coming in. And at least 1/3 of the staff had to stay at home on Monday too, because they live between Reading and Oxford, and their homes were at risk. Some of the pics circulating around the office with whole streets under water are quite impressive!
I guess it's payback time from last summer, isn't it? :)
